Dear Doris and the children, Remembering Derek it occurred to me that I must be the one that knew him longest (nearly 90 years in fact) and in that time can truly say that we never had a serious cross word. We had many happy hours on our bikes together - setting off for the West Country and ending up in Brantham (Doris will remember that one)! We did get further; Leeds, for instance, to see a test match at Headingley, and leaving Dunstable Downs on an Easter Sunday morning with a tailwind to arrive at Aunty May’s in time for tea.
